Susan Rose

Provisional Psychologist

Susan brings to DS Psychology Group a rich background as a Registered Nurse, having worked across public health and community settings. Her experience supporting individuals through times of illness, stress, adjustment, and vulnerability has shaped her deep appreciation for the importance of connection, emotional support, and feeling genuinely understood.

Susan works in a warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth way, creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves. With excellent engagement and people skills, she combines empathy, authenticity, and gentle humour to build strong therapeutic relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.

She takes a holistic, strengths-based, and collaborative approach to therapy, supporting clients to better understand their experiences, reconnect with hope and motivation, and develop practical strategies for meaningful and sustainable change. Susan values working alongside clients at their own pace, helping them feel empowered and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

Susan has particular interests in supporting individuals adjusting to health-related conditions and illness, working with older adults, and building trust and authentic connections with younger clients. She understands the emotional impact that health, life transitions, and caregiving experiences can have, and is passionate about helping people feel seen, supported, and capable during challenging periods of life.

Outside the therapy room, Susan enjoys cooking, travelling, gardening, gaming, and watching movies, and values creativity, balance, and connection in everyday life.
