Sharon Anderson

Co-founder & Clinical Director · Senior Psychologist & AHPRA Supervisor

Sharon Anderson is a Senior Psychologist, Supervisor, and Clinical Director of DS Psychology Group and the PIPS (Psychologist Internship Pathway for Success) Internship Program. With more than 20 years’ experience as a psychologist across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, Sharon has worked in both hospital and private practice settings, holding senior roles in program development, training, and supervision.

Sharon is a passionate advocate for professional growth and is dedicated to developing the next generation of psychologists as well as supporting early-career interns. As Clinical Director of the PIPS Program, she oversees the design and delivery of structured supervision, mentoring, and professional development opportunities that prepare provisional psychologists for the transition to full registration. She is particularly committed to fostering environments where psychologists and interns alike feel supported and challenged, enabling them to thrive professionally while developing their own therapeutic voice. Her approach combines clinical excellence with a supportive, relational style that encourages both interns and psychologists to build confidence, refine skills, and grow into reflective, adaptive practitioners.

Alongside her leadership role, Sharon continues to provide therapy to a small number of clients. She is passionate about empowering clients in the process of change—supporting them to develop improved coping strategies, greater insight into unhelpful interpersonal patterns, and more adaptive communication skills. Sharon also works with clients to shift unhelpful thinking, strengthen emotional understanding and regulation, and build self-awareness that allows for more meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Outside of work, Sharon has been married since 2002 and is a proud mum to four teenagers. She understands firsthand the juggle of family, work, and life, and brings this down-to-earth perspective into her role with interns, team members, and clients. Sharon knows that finding balance isn’t always easy, and she is passionate about supporting others to create space for growth, connection, and wellbeing.
