Nerae Preece
Nerae is a warm and compassionate psychologist who strives to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard and understood. She takes a collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to therapy, supporting clients to reflect, build insight, and develop meaningful goals that foster growth and wellbeing.
Before studying psychology, Nerae worked as a primary school teacher and principal, where she gained extensive experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds and communities. Through these roles, she developed a deep understanding of wellbeing, connection, and the importance of feeling supported.
Nerae is described as insightful, compassionate, reliable, and approachable. She values building strong therapeutic relationships grounded in empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard, helping clients feel comfortable to show up as themselves.
Outside of the therapy room, Nerae enjoys swimming, snorkelling, walking, cooking, and singing and playing piano with her bandmates. She values creativity and enjoys activities that support connection, balance, and self-expression.
