Marcos Benhamu
Marcos takes a warm, compassionate, and person-centred approach to therapy that meets clients where they are. He believes in creating a safe, collaborative space where individuals feel genuinely heard and supported. Beyond helping clients learn how to manage difficult emotions, Marcos’ aim is to help them create a life that is personally meaningful and value driven.
With experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, Marcos has provided individual and group therapy to people across a wide spectrum of needs and backgrounds. He is passionate about de-stigmatizing mental illness and advocating for open, honest conversations around mental health. He holds a strong commitment to supporting clients in navigating emotional vulnerability, identity, and connection.
Marcos has a diverse background, so he is sensitive to people’s unique experiences and adapts treatment accordingly. His neurodivergence confers him with a lived-experience perspective and a unique understanding of that community’s needs. He is also a Peruvian migrant fluent in English and Spanish and thus aware of the challenges facing people experiencing significant life changes.
