EDUCATIONAL & DEVELOPMENTAL ASSESSMENTS
ADHD Assessment
A cognitive assessment helps us understand how a person thinks, learns and solves problems. It looks at areas of cognitive ability such as verbal understanding, reasoning, problem-solving, working memory and processing speed.
Reasons to assess:
- To explore concerns with attention, concentration and executive functioning, such as planning, organisation, working towards goals and self-control
- To understand cognitive strengths and areas of difficulty that may be relevant to everyday functioning
- To explore emotional, behavioural or communication factors that may be affecting attention and functioning
- To determine whether the findings are consistent with an ADHD diagnosis
- To provide tailored recommendations and strategies to support the person at home, school, work or in everyday life
What does it include:
- Clinical interview (including parent)
- Cognitive testing, such as WISC-IV or WAIS depending on age.
- Administration and scoring of behavioural and adaptive functioning questionnaires, such as the Conners, CAARS, BASC (including parent forms) and Vineland-3, depending on age and assessment needs.
- Administration and scoring of test of Executive Function such as DKEFS
- Liaison with teachers and significant supports
- Reading of previous testing reports (if applicable)
- Up to 1 hour Feedback session
- Comprehensive report including assessment results, clinical formulation, relevant diagnosis, and tailored recommendations for strategies, interventions, supports or further assessment.
Clinician time spent: 10 hours
Cognitive & ADHD assessment package fee: Provisional Psychologist: $1200 +GST. Psychologist: $1800 +GST
The ADHD can also be added onto other assessments, with all the relevant inclusions as per below:
- Educational & ADHD assessment package fee: Provisional Psychologist: $1800 +GST Psychologist: $2500 +GST Clinician time spent: 14 hours
- Autism & ADHD assessment package fee: Psychologist: $2500 +GST Clinician time spent: 14 hours
- Autism & ADHD & Educational assessment package fee: Psychologist: $3100 +GST Clinician time spent: 17 hours
